Genesis Chapter 5, Generations of Adam

I bring to you our beliefs and why we believe them. I urge you follow Acts 17:11 and  search the scriptures to see if what we say is true.

                                              ************

In today's society, 'Hidden Codes' in the Bible have become a reason to reject the whole Bible. Most of the 'Hidden Codes' are from those who are trying to predict the future and they go through extreme measures to show the codes exist. However, it has been said that if one takes a copy of the "Mobby Dick" and run it through the same procedures, the same type codes found will be similar to those found in the Bible.  The old computer adage is:"If you torture the data long enough, it will say anything."

We at 'Sharing God's Word' believe there are hidden codes in the Bible and will present some of them in this article with the proof of existance. We further believe that while these codes are predictive of future events happening  within the scriptures, they also help prove GOD's fingerprint is prevalent throughout the Holy Bible.

There are many disputed 'name meanings' by reputable scholars. As the bible only transliterates the Hebrew proper names to approximate the way they were pronounced: it is hard with a good lexicon to come up with what a Hebrew name really means. (1)  However one can get good but somewhat disputed results by searching the meaning of the ROOT word(s).

Genesis 5:1.. "This is the book of the generations of 'Adam'. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;" This scripture gives us the name of Adam (from the root adomah) meaning 'man'. [emphasis added]

Genesis 5:4 Adam begat Seth which means 'appointed'. In Gen 4:25..(KJV) "And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath 'appointed' me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.." Gen 5:7  [emphasis added]

Genesis 5:7... Seith begat Enosh which means 'mortal - man'.

Genesis 5:9..Enosh begat Cainan [Enosh’s son was named Kenan, from which can mean sorrow,” dirge,” or “elegy.” (The precise denotation is somewhat elusive; some study aids unfortunately presume an Aramaic root synonymous with “Cainan.”) Balaam, looking down from the heights of Moab, employed a pun upon the name of the Kenites when he prophesied their destruction.[2,3]

Genesis 5:12..Kenan begat Mahalaleel [from mahalal,] Kenan’s son was Mahalalel, from mahalal, which means “blessed” or “praise”; and El, the name for God. Thus, Mahalalel means the Blessed God. Often Hebrew names included El, the name of God, as Dani-el, “God is my Judge,” Nathani-el, “Gift of God,” etc.[4]

Genesis 5:15..Mahalaleel begat Jared  from the verb yaradh, meaningshall come down.

Genesis 5:18..Jared begat Enoch meaning 'which means “teaching,” or “commencement.”

Genesis 5:21..Enoch begat Methuselah: Enoch named his son to reflect this prophecy. The name Methuselah comes from two roots: muth, a root that means “death”[5] ; and from shalach, which means “to bring,” or “to send forth.” Thus, the name Methuselah signifies, his death shall bring.[6] And, indeed, in the year that Methuselah died, the flood came. Methuselah was 187 when he had Lamech, and lived 782 years more. Lamech had Noah when he was 182.[7] The Flood came in Noah’s 600th year.[8] 187 + 182 + 600 = 969, Methuselah’s age when he died.[9]

Genesis 5:25..Methuselah begat Lamech.  a root still evident today in our own English word, “lament” or “lamentation.” Lamech suggests despairing..[10])

Genesis 5:28-29..Lamech begat Noah. which is derived from nacham , “to bring relief” or “comfort,” as Lamech himself explains.[11]

If one places all these meaning together prophecy is given that will take 2500 years before it is fulfilled.

Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow (but) the blessed GOD shall come down teaching his death shall bring (the) despairing, comfort (and) relief"  (emphasis added)

Skeptics would deny this hidden code but would it have been possible for Moses to sit around the campfire and try to figure out how to make Genesis prophesize about the Christ to come....

God told the events of the first five books of the Bible (Torah) to Moses. These books contained events that happened 2500 years prior.[12].

Only one author would know the names of those that lived during this pre and post flood earth.[13]  Only one author would know the coming of Jesus Christ and how His Grace would affect millions. Only one author knows what happened in the beginning and what will happen in the end. This one author, Our Lord God in Heaven gave us a Bible (KJV) with an integrated narrative from the beginning to the end.

*The Authorized King James Edition (1611, 1769) was used exclusively as other versions are somewhat different depending upon the year of their printing.

*All verses in the Bible are: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”  (Note: we have placed all scripture in RED for your convenience)

*Thus God is considered the author of all 66 books through 40 writers including those of Psalm 2.

We Believe!

I bring to you our beliefs and why we believe them. I urge you follow Acts 17:11 and  search the scriptures to see if what we say is true.

                                              *****************

Having written many articles for several Christian Forums, 'Sharing God's WORD' will be bringing those type articles and others to you the reader directly. We will share with you the what and why our beliefs happen to be. All through the Sovereignty of GOD and His WORD in The Holy Bible!

**We believe that Jesus Christ is "fully" God Incarnate, became "fully" man to fulfill a destiny on our behalf, was crucified, buried, and bodily resurrected, is presently seated on His Father’s Throne, and will soon return to establish His Kingdom on the Earth.  Jesus Christ is the Way, Truth and the Life (John 14:6).  Only through Him and Faith and "Faith alone" in the Gospel of Jesus will one be able to get to heaven and eternal life.

(1 Cor 15:1-4)..(KJV).."Let me now remind you, dear brothers(*) and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. V2..It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you—unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. V3..I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. V4.. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said." (emphasis added*Greek brothers; also in 15:31, 50, 58

**We believe in the Trinity of God (the Father), Jesus Christ (the Son) and the Holy Spirit as the one and only GOD of the creation of all things.

**We believe the inerrant Word of GOD (original manuscripts-autographs) as brought to us through the Authorized King James Bible (1611 Old English, 1769 (new) English Editions).  There are questions as to the inerrancy of this Bible....Yes, this Bible has around 200 errors within its pages. These are for the greater part found in the transliteration of Hebrew to Greek to English proper names. Other errors result in the ending and beginning of Chapters and Books of the Bible...These errors are well known and have been cataloged. Many of those errors may be found in this link. [https://www.ucg.org/bible-study-tools/booklets/how-to-understand-the-bible/are-there-mistakes-in-the-king-james-version-of-the-bible]

**
The Authorized King James Bible is made up of two Testaments, 66 Books with 40 writers and ONE---AUTHOR.....GOD.  This complete set of books is an integrated work from beginning (Genesis 1:1) to the End (Revelation 22:19) through the Inspired work of GOD:

2 Tim 3:16..(KJV).."All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:."

**The Holy Bible is the story of two weddings;  where God (the Father) has chosen a nation, a people (Israel) not because they were stronger or prettier or better that everyone else but because it was in His sovereign power to do so.  He becomes a husband to her (Jer 3:14-15), then divorces ( Jer 3:8) her because of her idolatry, fornication, adultery and wickedness but not before they have a SON.

**This Son (Jesus Christ) through his sacrifice at the Cross, Burial and Resurrection from the grave will forgive the sins of believers and give them eternal justification and glorification. He will build His Church as He had once told Peter (Mat 16:18) where He will be the Head and the Body will be the members (believers) of His Church. They, the members will also become His bride elect and prior to His 2nd Advent, His bride (Rev 19:7).

**Our interpretation of the Bible is Literal, Historical and Grammatical.

We agree with Dr. Cooper's 'common sense Golden Rule of Interpretation':
“When the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise.” [1]
This has often been shortened to “When the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense, lest it result in nonsense.”
